I'm definitely not advocating for Radar on a bassboat. I was trying to point out that it's use would require driving while looking at a screen instead of focusing on what is in front of you. If it's foggy enough for radar, just idle til you can see.

Couple guys definitely used in in the Classic in NO Delta that year... but yeah, not an ongoing thing. Lot of extra hardware and wieght, etc.

Interesting thought. I know a couple of guys who have added a small convex mirror to their console, and never gave it much thought as to why….may be an answer there.

The radar was a a major factor in the run to the Wagon Wheel and Venice at the Classic. Those with it were running in the morning fog hard with no challenges. A good portion of the canal run was in the fog.

not that it matters.. havent seen anyone say it but Flint Davis is a full time guide himself on the Flint River.. running that river you'd think he had plenty of practice of awareness with the shoals/rocks and shallow water.. wonder when they will say what actually happened

I'd guess if there is anticipation of legal issues, we won't hear anything until anyone who wants to litigate's lawyer makes a statement as to their perspective.

Oh man. It just hit me. This is the same guy that Zona filmed a show with when they were fishing for big shoal bass on the Flint River.

Thats why when i heard his name when it first happened i was really shocked, not that i know him but have known of him for quite some time and such a easy going good guy from what ive seen..

Some guys actually ran radar on their bass boat? They have them in a removable pole since the 20” dome needs to be very high off the water for proper operation. There is a reason radar domes are at the very highest point of a boats cabin.

They did in the classic in New Orleans. I remember Ike having it on a pedestal where the seat goes on the back deck. Was so they could run in fog.

Yea, i was there. They had them on poles with ratchet straps holding them down. That was some super thick fog and even the guys without it were running hard
