    Green Pumpkin

Probably the most productive color in bass fishing. Why are there no green pumpkin crankbaits?

Yup gotta look at the color itself and ignore the name. That's how I choose my cranks anyway.
2023 Xpress H18 with 115 SHO that's optioned to fit my wants and pulled by a little Ram.

I assume they got the name from an unripened pumpkin.

I think ghost tennessee shad and or gizzard shad is a shad of green pumpkin in crankbaits. However, remember, that's a clearwater color and most guys like to toss squarebills and muddy and murky water around here.

There was pumpkinseed first… (the light brown with black flake). Added a little green and I guess that’s where it came from..

put me down in agreement that green pumpkin is probably the most consistent fish catcher made..

For what it’s worth, strike king has “watermelon” cranks and it looks nothing like watermelon seed soft plastics.. come to think of it, watermelon seed doesn’t even look like a watermelon!!

Green pumpkin can also be a color like rootbeer.

Lot of that color in crankbaits, just takes looking at the colors.

I always heard there was pumpkinseed first. Then people started dying pumpkinseed with chartreuse dye and that was watermelon seed. Green pumpkin came later and was an in between

Green Pumpkin was invented by Zoom back in the day.

They found the color by accident when running watermelon through molds, not cleaning the molds enough and then running pumpkinseed or something similar.....the end result was Green Pumpkin. Bass after Dark podcast just talked about this subject......the video is about squarebills in general.

Norman had "rootbeer" in the DD22. One of my all time favorites.

This is true and the “pumpkins” we carve for Halloween are gourds. A Libby’s pumpkin is quite different.
