Question Now Force software update issues

From my previous thread, I was able to get both my graphs updated through the SD card instead of AC. But my graphs are not current enough from them to update the TM, hence AC is my only choice. Yesterday when I tired to connect to the Force, it kept telling me "no internet connection". so I "forget" the link on my iPhone wifi and reestablished it, still to no success, wouldn't recognize. I have the remote on and laying beside the TM along with the iPhone. I have done this before we no issues, just won't work this time. Am I forgetting something? Does the remote need to be anything but "on"? Do I need to scroll to a specific menu on the remote for the installation to take place? I set the Force network up with the remote when they were new, so none of that should be needed. The more features, the more complex. Sometimes I miss my MotorGuide 80# TM that was all metal and bulletproof.

See the video below for step-by-step instructions. When you connect your iPhone to the Force WiFi, it will always tell you "No internet connection", that is normal. Here, you are simply connecting your phone to the Force WiFi to transfer the software update to the Force, it will not have internet access. Be sure to have your remote and foot pedal powered up too. Both have their own software and will potentially receive updates during the process. First, the motor will update, then the pedal, then the remote, all in one sequential process. Be patient and let the process completely finish. The TM speed bars will flash green when the TM is updating, and when the pedal and remote are being updated. When the pedal is receiving updates, the pedal light will turn purple. When the remote is updating, it will display this on the remote screen.

I took your advice and relied on patience today. I went fishing and when I got to my first spot, I launched AC, turned on TM, pedal, and remote, tied on a few lures and let AC take it's time and go through the process to update all the components of the TM. After that, without me doing anything, iPhone connected to the graphs, updated the software on them, and updated my subscription maps as well. I guess it all works better on the water, than in my garage. Does the TM not like to update when stowed, even when on? I have had issues with that scenario before.

    Thanks for your input.

Great to hear! The TM should update just fine when stowed. That's how I always do mine, although I do raise it up a little so I can better see the LED screen to watch the progress of the updates.
