Lakemaster +Plus aerial imagery shutting helix units down

I've had this card for a few years now and have been using it without aerial to prevent it from shutting my unit down. It's 100% a card issue since I've used in various units with various power supplies. Anything I can do to fix it? Humminbird won't take care of me because it's "out of warranty", even though it's always had this issue.

I don't know of anything but gently cleaning the contacts. I've seen it recommended to use one of the old sch ool type pencil erasers.

If yours is a full size SD card, try taking the micro SD card out of if and inserting into a new sleeve.

Seems like there is a compatibility issue with the older Helix units. Don’t remember for sure. I think it was the gen 1 or maybe even the gen 2’s. A helix guy to tell you I am sure.

I know my Helix G4Ns become nearly unusable with Vx card and aerial plus shaded depth turned on.
    Not enough processor I surmise.
    Everything stutters to a crawl.

Thanks for the responses. I've used the card in a G3N and G4N, both shut down when I start scrolling while the aerial is on. Tech support from Humminbird on this issue has been horrible.

Good to know the VX does the same thing. I figured all V4.0 and newer do it. My V1.0 works fine. Guess I'll have to find another V1.0...

I've had so many issues with Humminbird and Minn Kota products, have to vent a little here. My next upgrade will be a second Garmin since I have the Ultra and LVS34 up front.

Describe what that means so I can check some G4N's with VX Premium.

When I have the maps pulled up with aerial on and move the cursor around to see different areas of the lake, it shuts down. Sometimes it shuts down when I'm moving around on the trolling motor too. Thanks

What area or lake are you scrolling around when it shuts down?

It's an MN chip. Anywhere there's aerial imagery to load.

I have a Mid-Atlantic VX Premium card with Aerial Imagery turned on to Land and Water. There is a lake about 3 miles from my house that has that overlay, and when I move the screen curser to the lake, zoom it to 10' or 50' and move about the lake the unit does not shut down. When I zoom out to 20 miles and move the curser to a lake about 100 miles from my house, zoom in to 10' or 50', I can move the curser around that lake and the unit does not shut down.
    I did that with Helix 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, a Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, and a Helix 8 CHIRP SI+ GPS G4N.

The memory used on the card is 29.9 GB.

I'm assuming the "V1" you are talking about is not the new VX Premium V1. Which "V1" card are you referencing?
