so with that said, I am still looking for comfortable hot weather footwear / fishing shoe.
I can't stand flip flops but I love my Merrills aqua shoes, does everything flip flops do without the toes being harassed.

Reef. But don’t get the ones with a bottle opener on the underside of the sole. The sole gets hard on those not too long after wearing em.

I can’t stand the noise a flip flop makes when you walk. I wear Columbia boat shoes.

Wearing flip flops in public, NEVER going to happen. I never know when they would be a bad choice if something unexpected happened. Wearing on the boat is a disaster waiting to happen for me personally. My feet tend to slide out of them in other than ideal conditions. Wearing them around the house chilling they work. I like having more protection so Crocks get the nod for as my slip on sockless treads.

I prefer Chacos or Teva sandals. They are more secure than a flip-flop and won’t come off if you fall in. Last thing you would want to do is be barefoot with all the junk under water or around a dock. I will wear flip-flops around the house and yard or to the beach but rarely do I wear them away from home.

You remind me, when my oldest granddaughter was 2-3 years old she would call them Blip Blops .

There’s not much nastier than a dude with gross feet and toenails wearing flip flops.
