No problem. Updating is done individually on each and every unit.
For the HDS update using an SD card, after putting the card in a slot with the unit off, then start it to automatically update that unit. It doesn't matter if your other units are on or off. When you finish that update, then move the card with update to the next HDS unit, repeat, and so on until all HDS units are updated.
You can then do the AT units, 3D, and SonarHub. You could also do these updates before the HDS updates...it really doesn't matter. Normally I update HDS units first, then AT, then 3D StructureScan. But it really doesn't matter. You can use the same microSD card for each, but make sure you download the specific update for each type of unit that you have. Note, if you have two Active Targets like I do, then you use the same update two times (one for each box). If you have 4 LIVEs you use the same update four times.
Hope this clears it up. Just follow my YouTube videos and you will have no problems.
ciao,
Marc
Marc: Thank you as always you are a great help. Chao!
All 3 of mine have the udpating message persisting on subsequent bootups, but is has been reported it goes away eventually (Marc C.).
I did loose my SS3D temp source when I updated SS3D module - have you updated a SS3D Module yet? I reverted to 18.3 and it came back, so am still sticking on v18.3 for now.
4-HDSLives12, SS3D and AT2 updated to 25.1...I thought everything went well.
Then I went to mess with my AT2 settings. Note...I have not been on the water yet with my AT2, but I completed a Marc M install this winter when I upgraded from AT1. It was working 2 months ago on the 23.3 software.
Here is what is going on with my AT2 in my garage..."No Source" stays on my screen at all times even when I toggle my 3rd party switch on/off. "Stop Sonar" is not selected on my AT Menu. "Stop sonar" doesn't seem to do anything in the AT Menu on my HDSLive. Even though it says "No Source" on my screen, I can hear my AT2 Transducer pinging. Further when I switch the Mode out of Auto to Forward, I can only change 1 of my distances forward, but it doesn’t change it on the screen. I cannot change down distance at all. My module seems to showing the correct functioning lights. I haven't had the AT2 on in a couple months until I decided to update the software. However, when I reverted back to the 23.3 HDSLive and AT2 software from the 25.1, it isn’t working like it was 2 months ago. It is acting the same as the 25.1. I am having problems finding the AT2 software 23.3 confirmation, but I’m have trouble finding it on the Network Device List or elsewhere.
My guess is it is something I did or don't have setup right. Could be the Ethernet cord, but it was working 2 months ago and it is brand new. I switched the Ethernet cord into the other port. Same results. I need to check my voltage on this dedicated AT2 unit. I hope to get this figured out soon.
Thanks for everyone's input! I need help that is for sure.

Thanks James. Good stuff...okay I will find the video to save all the waypoints. I think there is an option to save your screen custom pages and settings on the pages too. I really don't want to set them up again if I don't have to. I guess that could create some bad data.
Well...my suspicions were correct with downloading my settings before the hard reset. Marc covered all of my questions in 3 videos. I really appreciate everyone here. Off to my garage to work on some graphs...fingers crossed.
I am back. Unfortunately, it is still acting the same after the hard reset. Let me know if there are any other suggestions. My issues seem to be related to the AT2 only and I have not used it on the water yet. All my Live units and ss3d seem to be acting normal. My AT1 never gave me issues.
Thanks in advance!

You are correct. Saving settings and screen data to a file and reinstalling it, puts everything back the way it was. So whatever issues you are having will just repeat! Best to take a phone photo of each screen and set them up fresh rather than import the Settings file.

For those who haven't seen my video on saving settings, let me add that if you update your Lowrance unit, then do a hard reset, then restore your settings, you can then save your settings while all is clean. That way your saved settings don't have any faults embedded, and then you can restore them later with confidence and without having to go through all the settings one by one again.
ciao,

Just updated my HDS Live 12 unit and AT2 module as outlined using a micro card. When I went to check the software version of the AT2 unit after the update, it showed:
UPDATES
HDS Live-12
Current Version: 25.1
Available Version: 25.1
ActiveTarget2
Current Version: 25.1
Available Version: 23.3
Is that odd for the AT2 available version to show 23.3?
Thanks
That is because the 25.1 is only 3 days old and it thinks the 23.3 is the current one. Over time that will change
Where do you confirm the active target version?
Do you have an alternate ethernet cable you can run over your deck from your AT box to your bow unit? This can help you confirm whether or not your ethetrnet cable is properly working. BTW, having a spare 25-foot ethernet cable is a good practice especially if you fish tournaments.
ciao,
Marc
Thanks for the great videos Marc. I followed along with your steps. Super helpful.
25.1 is up and running on all my lowrance products that can be updated. basically i probably did something that caused my AT2 to be lost by my HDSLive12. I called Lowrance tech support today. My AT2 was working properly after 20 minutes or so. It is the first time I have had an issue with a lowrance update. I strongly feel it was handled very efficiently and professionally by the customer service tech. Just a side note, it was the first time he talked about this problem with the update. However, he knew what steps to take to get me fixed.
