Ranger 520R Back Up Light / License Plate

I have 2023 Ranger 520R. I must be completely missing something. Are guys drilling the second hole to mount the license plate ? I have two factory drilled holes near the back-up light but nothing to the left or right.

The only other option in my head is was there suppose to be a bracket installed at the factory and they forgot it? Simple enough to drill the extra hole but didn't think I would have to. If there is a bracket I'll go to the dealer and get it.

Mine looks like that, but it has two holes a little further apart and even, so the plate bolts up and sits level to the ground.

That square block is an optronics box so it has to the light to illuminate the plate . I'll take another look tomorrow and see what other holes are hiding behind it. Thanks for the reply.

That is what I was expecting and saw based on looking at other pics of boats with plates

maybe the "rhino liner" covering is hiding the hole? look from the front side of trailer cross member? this is a ez loader made trailer likely

Thanks again for the suggestion. I got a chance to get over to the boat for some rigging. I crawled under there and there are no other holes after looking from the front and taking a light looking for dimples in the Rhino lining. No idea what happened but at this point I'm just going to drill holes where I need to and call it good. Ice is gone and next weekend looks good for the first time out in 2025. My OCD is getting the best of me on this one.

Make sure to spray a little rustoleom (sp?) paint into the newly drilled holes to prevent corrosion from having a starting point. Two minutes and a few bucks may save you lots of money and trouble in the long run.

Buy an aluminum backing plate before installing or your license plate will bent off from the water pressure putting it in out of the water. Thick aluminum backing plate was only about $15 on amazon. Lost my license plate so I know.

    Good luck.

Yep I did the same thing with the aluminum backing plate,Oklahoma doesn't have to register boat trailers so I have a sports plate on mine, and it was getting bent from the water as well as catching wind running down the road.

I used an old license plate as a backing plate. Mounted the bolts in the bottom holes and zip-tied through top left hole around bunk bracket.
