apparently the rules are written differently for the Elites vs Open guys. Listen to todays BTL (Bass Talk Live), and Matt gives an explanation at the very beginning regarding the difference in Elites vs Opens
How do you control what comes out of a persons mouth? If Joshes story is true then poly the entire field immediately.
It is your job as an elite angler to police what comes out of peoples mouths. especially a family member
I don't know all of the details of this situation. I don't think many do... but overall I appreciate BASS trying to right the ship and be stricter on the rules
Isn't also an Elite anglers job not to get the same infraction in back to back years on the same spot and same body of water and not accumulate a pile of penalties in a year?
There has to be more consistency in enforcement at some point.

There was a video submitted to bass yesterday of one of Bassmasters favorites straight up asking for information in Okeechobee.Guess what nothing happened or will happen. Four guys ran no wake zones last week. Three were penalized but the one that has Bassmasters signature sponsor down the side of his boat got a don’t let that happen again call. If you think rules are equal for everyone you would be sadly mistaken.

The man has been fishing the Elite series since 2009. Has he ever been dq'd, penalized, or have any kind of shady questionable history? Just saying dude sounds like a strait up guy and after that many years on tour to dq him for a conversation with his son that didn't help him in any way is kinda crazy. Don't blame him for being pissed.

The overwhelming majority of the time when someone leaves their position voluntarily or involuntary its not always because of what just recently happened. Listen to Matt's Facebook announcement. I don't recall his exact words but it was something like this decision has been brewing for a while. There is more to him leaving than what happened at the St John's event. Although unfortunate and I wish Matt well BASS will roll on and never miss a beat. BASS knows they hold the golden carrot buy being the most desired league to fish and having rights to crowing the Classic champion even with all their drama. Does this mean BASS is all squeaky clean, hell no but they will not miss Matt Herron for one second.

Obviously I don't know all the ins and outs, but it's pretty sad. Matt Herren was one of the anglers that stuck with BASS during the split. Not saying if he broke a rule he shouldn't be punished.. and I'm sure he would agree, but this sounds like a big reach. Especially with that just happened at the open. He's been very loyal to BASS
