If you can't get them to reseal, then yes. I have seen a tiny 1/8" piece of a blade of grass keep a seat from sealing. The piece of grass dried out on the sealing surface, and seemed glued to the seat. I had to remove it with a razor blade. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
