want to catch crappie, would you go to Guntersville or Smith Lake???

I want to catch some nice crappie and hopefully high numbers, should I go to Guntersville or Smith lake? Also if you know what they're biting best and/or any locations where to get on them please let me know. I've only caught 3 or 4 crappie in my life. Sounds fun!! Thanks!

Between those two choices, Guntersville hands down, but I can't say much about Smith Lake. Some really good Crappie caught at Gunhtersville every year. From what I hear, this heat wave we had this week took the fishing down a few notches, a few people were catching nice fish about a week ago. I been catching quite a few crappie on Wheeler fishing the creeks. I went two Sunday's ago fished from about 9 that morning till about 12:30 and ended up bringing home 18 good fish, went back that same Thursday, got there about 2 pm and fished till about 5:30 and brought home 34.

I'm hoping, if I decide on smith lake I can get some of the tripe running on topwater in the morning, then go for the crappie. so i'm leaning towards smith. can't find out for sure, but one guy told me the stripe are on top pretty good right now.
