    Fury VS Tempest

I am thinking of trying a tempest on my bass cat with a 225 3.0. I have installed a 300 ingnition ecu and modified the crank sensor to achieve a much better hole shot, A 25 trophy pulls 6000 at 73 loaded with one person, A 26 trophy pulls 6000 at 76 GPS. The trophy has great hole shot and handles better than the tempest which has a ok hole shot. My question is will the Fury have a better hole shot than the Tempest. This motor likes the RPM to Flair to about 3k while the bow is still lifting. I find it odd that both props pull the same RPM, I beginning to think my tach has a problem and will not go past 6000? The ecu is a 830044 6 , I was under the understanding that ecu should limit at 6400? Any Thoughts.

The Fury is, in general terms, going to have a "stronger" hole shot than the Tempest Plus. Would be worth your time to try one- especially if you can do so "before" you BUY one.

Keep in mind- you may need to alter your running height slightly. Many rigs find that the Fury will perform slightly better on top end, IF you'll take the time to find it's "sweet spot".

As far as your Tach and Limiter.... keep in mind, the limiter is just that. It limits you, so that you do not exceed a preset RPM parameter. If your current prop won't reach 6100.... you'll never see that limiter.

I Find it a little confusing how fast the 25 trophy pulls to 6k and stops there, you have the feeling at 5800 it will just keep on pulling past 6k. The 26 feels about right as it tops out. I guess I need to find a 23 to test with. I forgot to mention that the RPM is the same with the 25 when I add a 340 lb passenger but the speed drops 2mph. I would expect a speed drop and also a 200 rpm drop.

NO, rpm won't drop, but your prop slip goes up which is why you slowed down.
