    Question about painting jointed baits?

I see several of you guys painting jointed swim baits. How do you hold these baits when you dry them? I can't seem to keep the joints from hitting each other.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I build a jig that will hold them straight such as from a clothes hanger or tie them off between two wheels on the turner with one side being elastic.

    Good concept Mr.D.

My lure turner is a rotisserie that I moved the 2 sets of forks towards each other, and use rubber bands on the ends of the jointed bait to keep the sections pulled apart for painting/clearing.

My turner is a plastic folgers coffee container. I inverted the lid and hot glued it into the open end for additional support then punched holes in the center of the top and bottom then pushed the forks into the bottom to drive the can. I use small spring clamps to hold lures while turning.

    Re: (bass-ackwards)

I installed the drive forks before I reinforced the open end of the can with the lid--hindsight. I had to trim the lid so it would fit inside the can.
