    What is the best clear to use on reels?

    Went down to the local paint store and they recommeded a premixed acrylic clear that is supposed to go on thin. Just wondered what you guys that have painted the reels have used

    I used the devcon 30 min epoxy. You have to be very careful around the edges of the inside of the reel. A thin clear would probably work better, but I havent tried another clear yet. If you find a thin clear that works, let me in on it

    I have picked up some automotive clear that I am going to spray with an old airbrush....I will update you

    I think the auto clear would be your best bet. Plus I think it would be more user friendly for clearing the reel

    when using the automotive clear, make sure that it is the urethane clear. the lacquer clears are not durable and will not last too long.
