Painted bullet weights for the first time last night with some powder paint. Got a piece of thi wire ran thru the sinker, hooked the bottom and the top so I could hang them in the oven after dipping. After they cooled off noticed the wire was now stuck in the sinker the top of the wire was loose but the bottom was covered in paint. What is the best way to do this.
Make sure the wire is loose before you cook, then after cooking it should be able to pop out. To get the wire out now heat up the side runnung to the hook on the oven rack till its red hot and the heat will transfer down and free the wire. Then you can take a tiny drill bit and clean out the hole running through and your done!!

I would have to disagree. Fingernail polish will not hold up.

RThe best way I've found is stick toothpicks in the weight. Heat and paint, pull the toothpicks out and run the wire though the weight then cure. A little time consuming but at least the wire isn't stuck to the weight.
