Thinking of building a light weight c-rig rod...

Thinking of building a rod for c-rig's this winter. Never have built a rod, but have wanted to for a few years. Occasionally I ask George R a question or two, and instead of bugging him again I just thought I'd ask the collective group.

What blank would you use? Currently I'm using a old flipping stick with a split grip. Love the action, just find the rod is a bit heavy and wears out my shoulder after a day of fishing.

I mostly fish 3/4 oz weights with about a 2-3 ft leader. Fish braid on that rod.

What guides would you use? Handle/reel seat?

Thanks in advance. Sure I'll ask more ?'s later on.
