I want to share a bit of news with you guys. If you have been on my website, on the Articles page, you may have noticed that Dremel did an e-Newsletter last year regarding my use of their Dremel tool. I use it to grind down guide feet, modify reel seats, cut blanks, etc.
About a month ago, they called me, asking if I'd like to participate in a Dremel infomercial. They asked some questions then said that the producer would be in touch. Long story short...they are flying me to CA to be in the infomercial on 11 July. I'm sure that the rods I'm taking will get more airtime than my face, as they will be much prettier.
Honestly, I have never seen a Dremel Infomercial. Have you? I have no idea where or when this will show, but it will feature their Model 300. I'm currently using the XPR and I love it. I wore my first Dremel out!
The rods that I'm going to take for demonstration purposes are the Lamiglas MB 841 E glass rods. The contrast between the yellow and gray reel seat should help illustrate the RF Lite and the Split Reel Seat handle designs that I will feature. I'm going to doll them up a bit with red burl cork trim rings, a garnet / electra gold Chevron Wraps, etc.
I understand that they will ask questions from off camera and then get some footage of me doing some actual modification to the reel seat / grinding guides, etc. Should be a fun time!
I'll keep you guys posted after I return, so you can see some of my rods up close. That will be the important part! lol.
