    Hydrolic jack plate offset

    Need help, tr20x series with 225 having issues planning. Currently have tried different props, different plugs in prop, different settings on hydrolic jack plate. Was wondering if going from a 4 in offset to an 8 in offset would help with planning. I have also changed to lithium batteries.

    Can you describe the issue more clearly?

    Is the issue porpoising at slow speed (unable to stay on plane at reduced speeds)? Was the issue present before switching to Lifepo4 batteries?

    Happens when I take off, sometimes takes 100 yards to hit plane. Happened before battery changes.

    Is it struggling to rev high enough or is the prop blowing out and getting too much RPM?

    Has the engine's state of health been confirmed? Are all service items (plugs, filters, fuel lines, etc.) up to date? Once it gets on plane, how many RPM's can you achieve?

    Yes it is struggling to reach rpm, I have tried different props from 24 to 26 pitch and tried no plugs in prop and plugged one at a time to all plugged. If I remove the plugs it cavitates

    Once on plane I can reach about 67 to 70mph and rpm about 6k, if I raise jack plate too much it over runs on rpm like it should. So no issues once I'm on plane but getting there is my issue

    I have had it checked in computer 3 or 4 times and all shows good. No problem with rpm once in plane

    has someone pulled a compression test from all 6 cylinders?

    Your problem is the lithiums. Place a 50 pd bag in rear then try. If it works send your prop to get worked. I had the same issue on an 06 TR20X w/225 Pro XS 10in plate. Croxton has worked mine due to this issue and is working.
