man, this is a cool topic. I never had a crazy set but i always dreamed of having that amazing set that was in the toy section of the JCPenney catalog.
one day, I am going to find one at a yard sale and set it up in the garage. Another cool thing is to have, I believe it was H/O scale, train set running next to the track.

I was fortunate to have a 2-lane home track - recall the Ferrari was faster than the other. The box was about the size of one of today’s ginormous “big screen” TV’s. We also had a very large public 6/8-lane public racetrack in Wonderland Mall. I grew up in a family with a midget car racing heritage…
