What they need to do is stop calling them "student-athletes", at least the football and basketball recruits. Do away with the 4 year scholarships and award them to academic achievers. Back when I was at Illinois in the late 70's, their starting DB was in my Spanish class and I never saw him except one exam where he had his name and three words on the paper; yup he passed with a D. Never saw any of the starting basketball team around campus. Now that many players transfer, why even offer them a scholarship? It's not like they (or their parents) have ever cared about academics since elementary school.

Not all of these kids nowadays skip their classes..... Some of them do care..

I think that there should be contracts between the school and the players when it comes to their NIL money. You play X amount of games and we give you X amount of dollars. Maybe have a performance clause in it for a bonus.

Alabama is not the only one who has a rivalry game bro! Nobody outside of Alabama cares!! That's what I'm trying to say, the fact of the matter is whether it's the Iron Bowl or not, Auburn sucks and y'all barely, and I mean BARELY beat them! Just because it's in the plains and it's a rivalry game you think you can say, "well Alabama never plays good there and you don't understand the history of the iron bowl"! This is the definition of entitlement, none of that is relevant whatsoever to the fact that Auburn sucks and y'all barely beat them.

Not sure if you're aware, but FSU and Florida also have a huge rivalry game. It was in Gainesville this year and FSU went in with a backup and didn't need a miracle to pull it out.

Just to make you feel better, I'm a huge VT fan. And I've mentioned several times on these threads that I tend to pull for Bama in big games, can't stand Michigan, and not really a fan of FSU. I'm a fan of college football and actually watch college football instead of just one team. I ain't gotta dog in the fight and just call it like I see it, and the way I see it FSU got screwed. Sorry you don't agree with that. You've made it very clear that you're an LSU guy, and since we're trying to pin down who everyone is a fan of and who they should be cheering for, I'd say you should be upset that the team that curb stomped you in week 1 didn't get in just to make your team look better.

I'm really not trying to come across as a d***. I'm actually a pretty nice guy and I love debating college football. I also generally pull for SEC teams outside of ACC teams. But the entitlement I see out of Alabama fans makes it easy to see why they're so hated.
