My point is they have a chance with Travis, still prob dogs against 3-4 teams. They got zero chance without him…you would essentially guarantee the one seed being in.

That's a lot of presumptions. But generally speaking, go look at how many points LSU gave up this season. I have no clue what the score would be, spread would be, etc. Obviously Travis not being there is a completely different situation. All I did was state that their defense was good enough to hold the best offense to 24, and a 14th ranked Louisville to 6. We can make presumptions all day, but their defense has proven to be elite.
I'm not ignorant, and as a Virginia Tech fan I'm not even a fan of FSU lol. I just hate how hypocritical this selection process was.

It’s not hypocritical, FSU is not a top 4 team, period. Again, they would be double digit dogs against anyone in the playoff, they’re 2TD dogs against the 6 team and would most likely be 2 score dogs against anyone in the top 10 save PSU. You can argue UGA/OSU, but FSU without Jordan Travis is not a playoff team.
If it's about the best 4 then I think the majority of people would believe that Ohio State and/or Georgia is a better team than Washington. Why didn't they get in?
If it's about the most deserving then why didn't FSU get in?
Injuries are part of the game and it's something you can't really control... which is what happened to FSU.
You know what can be controlled? Wins & Losses. That's something FSU did control. Bama did not. And save the "they're a better team now, that was week 2, etc." If that's the case then don't have a regular season.

GA and OSU both lost their last games that is why they did not get in. So you're saying a team that loses their conf. championship should get in, orin OSU's case, lost to the eventual conf champs? I do agree that GA is probably better than WA, but we'll never find out, I doubt OSU is better. But that's my opinion. I doubt FSU coiuld beat GA or OSU, so by your logic they (FSU) should not be in.
The point of the argument is that basing the level of eligibility for the tournament on something other than overall record is where the hypocrisy lies.
If it is opinion and speculative, then why not just use opinion and speculation to determine the champion after the tournament as well?
Do I think FSU can beat Georgia or Ohio State right now? No
Do I think Washington can beat Georgia or Ohio State right now? No
But Washington got in, and FSU didn't. There lies the hypocrisy. If Washington got in, then FSU needs to be in as well.
And Musky is right. If it's all about speculation, hell why even have a National Championship? Let's put in all the offensive stats, defensive stats, number of 5 star players on each team, Strength of schedule, coaching probabilities, etc. and use that to award the National Title trophy.

It is the opinion of the committee, nowhere does it state a conf. champion gets automatic entry. It is a consideration for sure, but in the end it is a committee decision, and no matter what 4 teams they selected, people were going to howl. We've got guys thinking GA and OSU should be in.
Undefeated isn’t a metric…and anyone can go read this, it’s listed on the committees website.
conf champ
head to head
common opponent
injuries
Those metrics are not there to pick the teams, those are there to separate close teams. UW and it could have been Oregon were over ranked all year…that is why they are where they are, the PAC12 is fraudulent. UGA gets moved to 6th, also fraudulent.
