He also said it does not matter what league ya fish in, nothing really has changed since the split, MLF is constantly changing too many things and either one is a crap shoot. I actually think this is one of the more honest interviews I have seen from any angler lately over which league they fish in lol. Will be interesting to see how it plays out for him.

It's interesting that some guys leaving BPT have said its better for their sponsors for them to go to BASS while Poche us saying that leaving BASS us better for his.

I wouldn't expect them to say anything different. What would be interesting is to see if Pouche and any of the guys leaving BPT have the same sponsors. Then we would know one or the other is lying.

His MLF page lists these: Fenwick, Abu Garcia, Berkley, Fin-Nor, Gator Trax, Mercury, American Sport Fish, Frogg Toggs, Garmin, Power-Pole, Bob's Machine Shop, Outlaw Lithium

Now if Gator trax is his largest sponsor I could see where they’d like the off the grid stuff more. Or anywhere he can fish shallow the most and get the coverage. Speaking of his troubles at bass, just wonder if he or they felt he would have less coverage this coming year, where MLF actually did encourage it.

I realize it's an individual decision and a personal one as well but it does get said a lot.

When they leave X boat deal and sign on with Y boat deal that boat suddenly becomes a better fit and is a superior product. When the leave X reel company and sign with Y reel suddenly the new reel sponsor has the most smooth reel and cast the farthest. When they leave X battery company and sign with Y battery company suddenly they can run their trolling motor on high all day. Its not hard to see the pattern and I don't find any of their comments interesting. Hence why they have zero influence in my decision making. Granted I'm not make a decision of going to BASS or MLF I was just using how what they are currently doing is the best thing out there.

I agree 100%. I'm actually glad you say that because most people think of professional fishing as a tournament circuit or a sport. In reality on the scale of things its 100% a business. If BASS, MLF or the private contractor know as the angler is not making money everyone fails.

As a pure business decision my personal opinion is MLF/BPT is a better business fit for Poche. He can trailer to a close ramp to the remote area he likes fishing. When the day is over its simply lines in. He does not have to worry about running several miles of dangerous water to be at a weigh in on time. Plus lets be honest, the rule enforcement at MLF/BPT is know to be shady. Poche likes to fish in the grey area. Would he want someone who is more strict on the rules or someone who is know to be a little blind with the rules. Granted he did get a DQ from one of the lower level MLF events but it was a black and white rule violation that was 100% Poche's fault. It plainly says 150 HP minimum and at that event he had 90HP. Anyways my point is the format and the turning of the head at rules is a better business model for the style fishing Poche does...and for the record I like Poche. I really like his off the grid stuff and how he is all in on shallow water.

If off the grid is more valuable to his sponsors than tournaments then why is his last upload 4 months ago?

I wouldnt expect them to keep sponsors by talking negative about them.

He said at the end of the interview he has not done one in a while, and is about to start again.

Also stated he and his sponsors have a new or newer version coming out the first of the year? ( I am paraphrasing, memory fades lol) It was right at the end, and I was playing with my grand boy lol

Good deal. Not a big fan of him as a tournament angler but I do really enjoy the off the grid videos.

Yep we’re camping out and those four tall Yeti Cups of Texas Pecan Flavored Coffee were a real jump start this morning thanks for noticing.

How was the Fall fishing up on Lake St Clair this year?

That is why I don’t pay any attention to pros talking about product. It’s good until that deal is done then it is on to something else. But people are sheep and they listen to nonsense.

I enjoy his "Off The Grid" videos, but he has been trying to tiptoe around the rules to fish both tours for too long. Hopefully he can find continued success fishing with MLF/BPT.

I'm still fishing when the wind allows us to get out. Been focusing on walleye and perch and been doing pretty good. Crankbait bite was pretty good for bass in October.
