    another powder paint question??

I painted some jig heads for the first time today. Everything went really good until I went to put them into the oven to harden. After being in there like the bottle says for 15min at 350 degrees they started to drip off the nose of the jig. Were they in there tooo long??? How do I do this without them drippin?? Thanks

hello, usually paint dripping off the end is a result of two much paint being on the jig. Make sure your powder paint is shaken up well, when you dip the jig just make one swish through the paint with the jig then tap excess off on the side of the jar. This should start to solve your problems, painting with powder paint is a feel thing the more you do you will get better with it. Many people purchase a fluid bed which fluffs the paint all the time which allows you to put a thin coat on the jig. also try not to push jig through paint but rather swish it. As far as your baking times each paint is different, the times they give you is a general time which covers most colors and should be fine. If I can help in any way let me know

Just a little to much paint, (caused by high temperature when you dipped) and a little too high of temperature in the oven would be my guess. Try lowering the cure temp to around 325 - 275 and extend the cure time.
