    nope all these chargers get pretty dern hot, heat causes a shorter life on electronics, a fan keeps these dudes almost cold during charging. I even used rubber stand off mounts to aid in cooling.

    Minn Kota PCL manual states that charger can reach 150F during charging, so presumably they have designed accordingly with material selection. I have measured 130F on mine. They also recommend extension cord gage in the user manual. Do not undersize your cord gage. Fan can only help.
