    Hub kit 175 pro xs V6 4s

Can anyone tell me the correct hub kit for the 175 pro xs V6 4s. Tried looking online but I'm not sure I'm finding the right one.

I'm not so sure the hub kit that is on it is correct. I can wiggle the prop back and forth a little. I can basically grab two ears of the prop and rock the prop back and forth a little. Tightness of the nut doesn't matter

This is brand new never been on water

Below is a pic.on what's on it now. Also the two other pics are me taking an ear and just pushing and it seems like the hub is not fitting right in the prop. You can see the gap changes as I push on prop or how much slop is in it

This is far fetched but, what is the diameter of the shaft. Is it 1 inch or 1,25 inch (the fat shaft) . Doesn't seem possible, and I don't know if you can do that, but you might have a hub for a 1,25 inch shaft on a 1 inch shaft.

Should the prop have wiggle in it though? I think I read some do depending on the hub.

Yeah it's definitely a 1 inch shaft. Hub kit is 1 inch also

I have searched and it seems like the flo torque iv would have the wobble but haven't saw anything for the ssr solid hub which is what I think I have. I think it came with hub 8M0101602

SSR may move around a bit, but I would personally recommend it be removed and then properly reinstalled/torqued. See FAQ section for important info.

    Don,

So I tried another ssr solid hub and even another mercury prop and same issue. The ssr solid hub wiggles and it doesn't matter torque on the prop. I tried a non mercury prop with the ssr solid hub and no wiggle. I've read other posts that says ssr may wiggle but have not seen anything about the ssr solid hub wiggles.

What hub should I run with engine? Should I run 8M0150151

I currently have ssr solid hub kit 8m0101604. That's what came on the boat from BassCat

The 8m0150151 is the correct hub, there should be no play, the Ssr hubs are actually pretty tight, I have to use a wooden 2x2 filed down to drive them out of the prop, just ordered 2 more as one of mine looks like it’s going to give out (spin the hub) they are about 45.00, pretty avalible

I'm thinking the 8m0150151 would be better as the prop wiggle kind of scares me though mercury website says the following in regards to the ssr solid hub below. Seems like the preferred hub by mercury for the 175 is the ssr solid hub

    From mercury

This hub kit will work all Mercury FourStroke engines up to 300HP with a 1" propeller shaft.
This "solid" version of the SSR Hub Kit is recommended to be used with the higher horsepower applications greater than 150HP.
For smaller horespower applications use the Flo-Torq SSR Hub Kit #8M0150151.

Did you reference this post, from the FAQ Section?

So yes I read the FAQ section and none of it answers my concern. Torque tightness does not change anything with the wobble I see. So I tried a SSR solid hub with a 23 fury and 25 bravo. Both wobble like crazy. So from feedback on this post I went with the normal SSR hub. It eliminated the wobble on the bravo but not the fury. I also tried another fury prop and it still has wobble. I called mercury and they had no idea what I was talking about like they never heard of this before. I found a video from a fellow BBC member that had a similar issue and my prop is doing this exact same thing but he has a different hub kit. You can see the video below and how it wobbles. To me it seems like my lower unit is probably going to blow to pieces from this. I can't see how this is good for it. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what is the fix? Thanks

Totally different hub kit- simply can't use one to explain the other.

Suggest video of your prop and hub (as it's being assembled, torqued, and then exactly what you're referring to as a "wobble").

Realize it's a different hub kit but it has exactly that amount and type of wiggle. Tried to upload video but I can't.

I guess if this is not normal I just need to take it in.

Though I see this post of similar aspect with the ssr hub

Upload your video to a hosting site (such as Youtube) and provide a link. BBC doesn't host videos.

Here is the video of my prop wobble with SSR hub. Torqued to 100lbs. This was with a fury prop and I just got a tempest also and same thing. Same wobble with SSR or SSR solid hub. I'm personally thinking there is an issue with the prop shaft. I've owned numerous bass boats over the years and have never seen anything like this

can you get your hands on a 835257k1? just for a test.
probably not what you'll be running, but it's the std hard plastic hub and should not have any wobble.
