    Help Needed on Poppers

What the heck is the consensus on tying to poppers - to the eye direct, or to a split ring/snap. Everything I read is all over the map. I have concluded that Spooks are better tied with a split ring/line loop/snap for better action.

    Thanks for your help.

I posed that question here a few months ago and it seemed to be pretty popular to throw them without the split rings unless you were trying to have the pop-r walk the dog

I use the Rapala knot on the ones that don't come with split rings. Frees up the bait allowing for more action.
