Same here, never had a vehicle payment. My 7.3 Tows my boat and other trailers anywhere in the country and passes newer trucks while doing it.

7.3 is great reliable engine, but let’s be real……. that 235hp engine ain’t passing too much of anything anymore.

Lol. I owned a 7.3 for almost a decade, and even after I had it chipped with a DP tuner, it still was a dog compared to modern trucks.

That said, I have my doubts my 22 F150 will have near the lifespan of those 7.3's. Look under the hook and all you see is plastic, even critical parts like coolant lines. Just can't see them holding up long term.

Have to do more to it than that, mine is tuned with bigger injectors and a bigger turbo and makes about 425hp. I can easily keep up with the new trucks and outrun many of them since it is lighter.

Glad you still love your truck, certainly way cheaper to keep one a long time vs swapping out.

That said, I was really bummed when I wrecked my 7.3. Immediately after I got a newer 1/2 pickup I thought, "man I should've switched years ago". That leaf spring solid front axle truck was so rough riding.

No full sized IFS trucks for me, I hate working on that IFS garbage.

Mine would have been doing the same but we live in the rust belt so I "only" got 20 years out of it. CJ
