6:3 for 99% of uses.. 5:4 for deep cranks
7:0 or higher for everything except deep crankbaits.
7:1 or 28-30ipt is my preferred retrieval rate, sq bills were designed for speed.
Yes for squarebills and yes for deep cranking. You can’t reel to fast
7.1 on my squarebill rod. Trust me, you can't physically reel it faster than a bass can catch it if he's eating
7.5:1 for me
I uses a 5.3:1 and a 6.2 lol
Remember one thing though...gear ratio is one thing...but what is thr IPT on said reel?

7.1 for square bills, shallow and medium divers. 5.5 for the big deep baits.
I'm running a 6.3 (TD-Z PO), but now that summer's here I might switch it over to a 7.1, espeically for smaller SB's.
