As a Larson fan, Dumbo in the 11 did the exact same to Elliott as what Larson did to Bubba Gump at Las Vegas last year. Both went in the corner hot, lost the front end and crowded the guy up top with little to no contact. The precedence was set for 1 race suspension for the driver that intentionally hooked the guy on the inside. The real crappy deal is what happened to Landon Huffman last week at Hickory in the NASCAR late model series. If you haven't seen that one go check it out on YouTube

Dang... seems to be a recurring theme for Jake Crum, beating up up on competitors/spotters/whoever...

I had seen the video of the 12/75 incident before, but didn't know the backstory of how the 12 spotter (husband) attacked Huffmans dad who was his spotter. There's possibly more to the story, but this Crum guy seems to be a repeat ahole.

You need to watch it again. Denny didn't run the 9 INTO the wall.

Hamlin is good at it....he crowds you, runs you out of room, and you hit the wall. He ran into Larson at Kansas and made him hit the wall for the win. Denny is a big whiner...he can do it to you, but hell you better not touch him. It definenately appeared Chase hooked him on purpose. Back in the day it would have been let go...and the hook'ee sure didn't mess with the hook'er anymore. Nascar set a precedent with the last suspension so not surprised it was handed to Chase as well.

He admitted he pushed him up the racetrack and didn’t give him room.

Listen to Actions Detrimental a Dirty Mo podcast. You’ll get a whole new perspective on Denny Hamlin.

Only one cure for this behavior. Suspend the Car Owner and the car does not show up at the next race. Let the car owner call the sponsor and give them the news. Let the car owner deal with the legal issues this would create for them. Let the car owner absorb the financial burden this creates Let the car owner deal with the driver. Driver contracts would have a clause specifically addressing this issue. RETALIATION. Of course it will take a fatality for a rule change. Just how NASCAR works.

The last NASCAR event I have ever watched. NASCAR has two eras. BRP and ARP. Before Restrictor Plates and After Restrictor Plates. I have not followed NASCAR since ARP began.

Not sure what makes him "the most popular driver for the last few years". Certainly not high on my list.

Number 11 crash was pretty violent. 9 is lucky it wasn't worst. It was an outright retaliation for a little squeeze in the corner when 11 drifted up. He was off the throttle, it wasn't initentional. Number 11 is a big pu$$y but the punishment fits the crime.

Agree. He has been consistently getting better each week.
Watched his Grandfather (Don) and father (Randy) race in the SNYRA every Saturday at Danbury
Great modified racing with plenty of local characters

The same thing happened probably 100 other times to other drivers in that race. A few scraped the wall and kept going. Maybe Chase isn't as good of a driver that all of his worshipers thinks he is. As for me, it wouldn't bother me at all if the 9 and the 11 took each other out every race.

    Couple things:
#1 That was a great race. Whoever called it a snoozer should just stop watching Nascar.
#2 While Hamlin raced Elliott rough, that happens all the time without the receiving driver hooking the other into the wall at 175+ mi/hr.
#3 Elliott definitely deserved the 1 race suspension.
#4 Elliott's move was selfish, impulsive, and dangerous. Hamlin was correct when he called it a tantrum.
#5 I'm a huge Hendrick fan and have always rooted for Elliott. I've lost a lot of respect for Elliott over this move.
#6 I've never been a Hamlin fan but he generally races clean especially over the last 6-8 years or so.
#7 Wonder if Elliott is feeling the heat considering he is clearly #3 on the Hendrick pecking order behind Larson and Byron.

No I didn't miss it. Read my post #33. I raced for several years back in the day so my idea of putting someone in the wall might be different than yours. In my opinion if you don't touch them with your car then it's just hard racing. The 11 never touched the 9 right before Chase bounced off the wall. Btw, my son's racing was ended by another car hooking him in the right rear sending him head on into the wall. He barrel rolled 6 times. That's a no no regardless of what level you race at.

Ahh BRP...the good old days. Talladega and Atlanta were some great races to watch back then...

Thanks. That happened 27 years ago when he was just 16. He's fine now but it scared the crap out of me when it happened.
