If I was only gonna buy one line it'd be Seagar Invisx. I prefer Seagar carbon pro for baitcasters just cause its a little more sensitive, but the Invisx casts better on spinning reels.

I don't hear much good about the older original P-Line pure Flouro lines.
I actually tried it in 12# once, and it was basically like bailing wire (very stiff & tons of memory). I personnally do like the P-Line Flourocarbon-coated lines (Flouroclear, and Premium). P-Line has some new stuff on the market too. I know one of them is "Halo". I have not tried it out yet.
It's funny with fishing lines. One guy will love a particular brand, and others will hate it. I guess part of it may be the difference in the waters we fish, and others may be due to getting some old, or difective lines??? I think P-Line makes some very good lines over all.

    Re: (mkgarrison5)

The Flouro coated lines are very good handling lines for their diameter. They are really nothing like the CXX Extra-Strong line. You just can't hardly beat CXX for all-out toughness. But, it does have some memory to it. The Flouro-clear & Premium lines are a trade off. They are not as tough. But, they handle very good. It's kind of a trial & error situation. What I like, may not work well for you. Hope you find something that fits your needs.

how bad is the memory on the CXX?? i am trying to figure out what to rig up on my 7ft, quantum pt, MH rod for strictly carolina rigging.... i use fluro leaders (Vanish 12lb) but i am looking for a main line. one thats sensative but tough..

    Re: (mkgarrison5)

I would not hesitate to use the CXX as a main line for c-rigging. The stuff is very strong & abrasion resistant. I use the 15#CXX for lots of things like spinner baits, shallow cranks/traps that I intend to run through heavy cover. The 20# is a good line for throwing some top-waters too. It is just too stiff for my tastes on lighter presentations like light weight texas rigging, or weightless worm fishing. The 12# & up sizes would not be the best choice for spinning gear either in my opinion. I think you would be very satisfied with it for C-rigging.

Yes, And you might be even better off to try one of the other lines for the spinning rig too. I don't use spinning gear much. But, I know how aggrevating stiff line can be on them. I don't fish gin-clear water too much due to my location. I see that lots of guys really like the Seagar floro lines for that. I just use small diameter braids on my spinning gear (10-30#) it suites my purposes just fine, and memory is no issue.

    Re: (looking4five)

i would love to use braids but the waters here can be clear one week and muddy the next due to rain and etc.. so i need to stick with clear or flouro lines..

for the carolina rig ill use the CXX 15#

for the other rods (all spinning reels) i would like to use flouro on the bass jig rod and just mono on the others..

I'm pretty much sold on Sunline at least, for finesse applications. It's pricey to start with but it outlast and outfishes any other I've used mainly Seaguar Carbon Pro, Cabala's No-Vis, and a little Viscious. I put 50 yards of 8 lb test on my shakey head rod last September, fished two championships, all winter, it's still good. Pulled a 15 lb flathead out of a cedar tree, prefishing for the Midwest Rally, last week. It took over 5 minutes to get it up, but the line and knot held fine. Only found one damaged spot on the line afterwards. I've also got some 10 lb on my Eakins jig rod thats just as good. http://www.ozarksupdate.com/images/15_flathead.jpg

I horsed a good fish out of hydrilla with Vanish, so that's what I'll go with.

never ONCE had vanish break on a fish. Broke and bent a few hooks on it though.
