Been using SAE 30 for years changed once a mowing season, no engine failures. Most of the time the rest of the mower falls apart before the engine.

I just bought some amsoil small engine oil last night for $11.30/qt. Yikes!! I'm sure its the same as regular oil, maybe not. If anyone knows , explain it. I just figured 100 hrs of hard running its worth it.

I was the engineer for building small engines for 30 years, around 80 million of them. I usually run 10/40. Every engine was test run after being built with 30w in the crankcase and av gas for fuel.

Band doesn't matter, all motor oil has to meet the same specs.
