    Mercury flushing kit #44357T2

Hello all, I recently bought one of those Merc flushing kits (#44357T2) and Im having some problems with it. When I hook this kit up to my lower unit, screw in the water hose and tape up the water pickups on my 200 Opti, water starts spraying out from under the suction cups. I never crank the motor because theres never any water coming out of the pee hole. What am I doing wrong? Anyone else experience this problem with the flushing kit. Thank you.

If you talking about the ear muffs to test run the engine out of the water then you are doing it right. However you will not get water out of the pee hole until you actually start the engine and the stats open. You would probably see some water out the engine as the water goes through the compressor as it does not have a stats on it and is continuely cooled by water.

Lets see what some other guys think.

I agree. You're going to see water spray out from under the "earmuffs" until the engine has been started (the amount spraying out should decrease substantially as soon as the engine is started- this indicates that the water pump is pulling the water through).
