The "using one boat all season" rule seems lame to me. A boat is a tool, just like all of the other various tools that we use to catch fish. Why not allow someone to use the best tool for the job at hand? Yes, it would make the sport more expensive and some of the lower level guys might be at a disadvantage because they can't afford a second rig. But, the guys who can't get up the river like Poche has are currently at a disadvantage. "Leveling the playing field" sound great in theory, but only holds back progress. Remember, the idea of "leveling the playing field" idea brought the CoT to NASCAR, which everyone universally hates.
"The man of system is apt to be very wise in his own conceit; and is often so enamored with the supposed beauty of his own ideal plan of government that he cannot suffer the smallest deviation from any part of it…He seems to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chessboard.” Adam Smith, The Theory of Moral Sentiments

people that question his choice of rig, are just haters. if the rest of the field thinks it's such an advantage, they can go get themselves a tin rig and fish out of it all year. they won't.

Rule makes sense -I was not aware that is the call on how that works. Some folks have said it’s only a 16 foot boat. It doesn’t look much bigger than that and he did just say it’s only 115 hp on the back. And guys are right he is going to get his brains beat into a pulp on a big lake with big waves. Good luck with that.

From what I've see of the Bass Caves of the Pros shows, a lot of these guys have more than one boat. Supposed to be pros, they should be able to use the best tool for the job.

Look at it this way. When they go up north and waters get big, who will be at a disadvantage then?
Just be kind to one another. It really is that simple.

I guarantee he will find some canal, creek, or backwater on any lake he goes to, and be able to hold his own.

Fun to watch... In all the excitement, though, I just hope he doesn't go for an unintentional swim.

What about it? If he caught something it wouldn't have counted.

I recall some competitors got their panties wadded up when he fished the opens in it (or a similar model), said it was unfair advantage, etc... Remember the whole blocking off his water deal last year at his Red River win...
