I've always wanted to go smallmouth fishing.

I grew up in a small town called Fort Covington. It is right on the quebec border. W e have two small rivers that flow to the St. Lawrence and in the spring they run up to spawn. It is absolutely crazy the amount of fish you can catch. It is only good for about 4 weeks then they run back down to the St. Lawrence about 4 miles. A bonus is the walleye also run up there as well, but I am pretty sure we missed them.

I guess Mike and I didn't want to go, as we never received our invitations!!! And heck, Mike was just saying the other day that we should get a smallmouth trip together, and invite Sterling to go.........

Where are you going in NY? I've been trying to plan a trip for either St Clair/Presque Isle or Oneida.Still making up my mind?

I am fishing my home town rivers. The Salmon and Little Salmon. Not to be confused with the Salmon River in Polaski where they fish for Salmon. They are very small and will only be good for the next couple weeks. Once the spawn is over they leave because the river is only about 6' average and it gets to hot.

Both rivers have a set of rapids in town and it slows them down. Last year my nephew stood on the bank in one spot, in an hour and 45 minutes caught 25. They are stacked up in there. I am mixing this with work(taking a couple dealer people).
