Depends on how well you handle pain.
I have a position that I will hold indefinitely, avg price in the 600s. I will buy some more at $600, which would be 50x 2022 earnings. I will buy more at lower prices. I have a high pain threshold, so if it goes to $500 or even lower, I'm okay. I really think there's a good chance at $500.

Ford, GM, Toyota, Hyundai ... they're all a threat to TSLA on the automotive side.
Certainteed, GAF, Suntegra ... they're all a threat to TSLA on the solar roofing.
In my experience, pioneers get the arrows, settlers get the land. TSLA = Short.
Ford , GM and other's EVs are a threat to the ICE industry, not to TSLA. Someone who buys a Ford lightning isn't a sale taken away from TSLA, it's a sale taken away from a Ford F150. The threat of competition to TSLA will happen when the EV addressable market is saturated and we're 20 years from that. Orders for EVs from all manufacturers will outpace production capacity for many years.

I still cannot bring myself to buy it even at these prices. I think it will probably bounce, but I cannot fathom a 99 P/E. I know, I know, it's the future of it, but still
As a FB bagholder at $260, I certainly agree TSLA could go much lower.![]()

Think I'll wait a bit. Thanks guys!
PE at the moment ... 98.38. At this point, it's a "value" stock.![]()
EPS per quarter
2020 Q1=.02, Q2=.10, Q3=.27, Q4=.24,
2021 Q1=.39, Q2=1.02, Q3=1.44, Q4=2.05
2022 Q1=2.86
Notice a trend? PE looks at the past not the future. A PE of 98 is earnings based on Fremont production, and ramping of Shanghai production
2022 should be $12-$15 eps or a PE of 60-50
2023 estimated to $20 -$25
25-30% margins
Zero debt
Texas and Berlin just started production.
That's what makes a market, bull thesis vs bear thesis

At some point the margin calls start for the all the Teslanaires. I won't get margin called, but at some point I start crying.
But I will be buying more through the tears

Getting closer to a bottom. Starting to see some teslanaires talk about how to hedge their downside, a little late for that. And some shareholders crying for a stock buyback to support the price. The pain is starting to set in. Need that big down day with heavy volume. Something that singles margin calls are hitting. The risk reward is definitely starting to shift to the reward side.

Rising interest rates, scandals, monkeypox, COVID, lockdowns, depleting tax credits, supply chain issues.
Yep, time to buy more TSLA. I'd load up, while you still have a chance. Or go bungee jumping, sans cable.
