What is the oddest thing you have hooked? My buddy hooked....

What's the oddest thing you have hooked into and reeled in? My buddy had a seagull dive bomb his topwater and got hooked. What a show on the deck of the boat fighting it out with the Seagull. Video in the link below.

I hooked a loon last fall.

my dad hooked a young duck with a fly rod, the momma duck came after him so he was battling the mom and pulling in the young one that was trying to fly

My son, when he was little, hooked a baby duck. I too had to fight off the mama duck that was attacking me while I got the baby loose.

I had a loon swim into one of my side planer lines when live bait striper fishing one fall. It was quite a battle for about 5 minutes until it came loose. I think it was just tangled and not hooked. Had a guy nearby tell me to put a towel over it's eyes when I got it to the boat. Yea, right! There was no way that thing was coming into my boat.

I also caught a 22' deck boat with a Carolina rig. Damn fool came so close to us she caught my line. Luckily I got her to stop. Wasn't sure what was gonna happen when that 65# braid got spooled!

A purse. No ID but it had it had Iron Man and the Hulk DVDs in it.
A Weber grill top in the river. Fought that sucker like a champ. My co angler waiting all big eyed with the net. I think he was more disappointed then me.
    A goose.
A Purdue flag on the back cast. Pulled that baby right off the 2nd level dock.
    A few rods and reels.
A body in the Cal Sag. Made the news on that one.

A gator, some kind of big bird, a beaver, a snake, and a coyote picked up a jig, but was not hooked. I had a loon chasing a hot spot under water, he chased it when it hit the water, followed it under, and I felt him hit it, thankfully, I reeled it in faster than he could swim. I also hooked my wife in the butt when she was laying on the bench seat, that was a circus getting that out, the only tool I had was a pair of channel locks, I got it out. That woman could scream! She did forgive me eventually.

Not an odd thing to catch but my partner caught a bass that was trapped inside a crab pot. The bass apparently sucked the worm in through the cage. He set the hook and couldn’t move it. I trolled over to it and was able to reach down and grab the pot. Pulled it up and there was the bass in the pot with the worm in his mouth. Opened the pot and got the bass out. It was a keeper so it went in the livewell for the tournament.

Caught a dead smallmouth this year. I was fishing a ned rig and lure felt a little heavy, set the hook and was hung up. It felt like fishing line. Kept shaking it till it came free. It was a dead smallmouth that I had hooked in the mouth and it already had a broken off ned rig in its mouth. I figure I was over the old line and it guided my lure straight to the fishes mouth. That's a hungry fish.

Previously a pigeon in mid air.

Hooked a seagull a couple of years ago on my topwater. Made a cast, looked down into the water and heard a splash. Thought it was a fish, so I set the hook without looking up first. Dam thing was a mean bastard lol. Got the hooks out of its feet and flew off.
