Been fishing in the Chowan for the last two morning. Caught close to 100 rock. Most 17 3/4. Trolling and casting. There must be lots of bait because their bellies are full.

They also have to be in season, and I don't think they are currently in season for inland waters.
Season is in until 30 April 2008 for the Albemarle Sound Mgt. area.
Is that inland of the 17 bridge? I sure hope so but for some reason I thought season didn't come in until later.
According to the NC Marine Resources Commission site and map, they have made the sound and river one area now. Go figure, just as soon as you get it figured out one way, they change it again. Heck, you ought to try to decipher the size limit code for the Bay this year.![]()

Now the Roanoke River is a different Mgt. area, and that season doesn't open til later in the spring I believe.
Almost made it so confusing they aren'[t worth fishing for.
Yeah, really. But they are so tasty on the grill!![]()

Gotta love the RR regs, we have a custom made bump board with a keep line and a throw back line.
