    need a report on Kerr

Hey all, My club has a tournament scheduled for Kerr on Oct. 6 and we are trying to decide what ramp to use, whats the water level like at kerr right now?? which ramp do you think will still have water on it in a couple of weeks??

not that it matters, I can never catch any fish on that damn body of water anyways

    thanks,

Re: need a report on Kerr (sprint_lover)

I was down there over Labor Day weekend and it was low, low, low. I've never seen it that low before.

I used the ramp at North Bend, but it was shallow. The water was almost all the way out to the end of the dock. If you tied your boat up at the very end you were sitting in about 1 1/2 foot of water.

Here's a link where you can check the level: http://www.kerrlake.info/

    Good luck!

Re: need a report on Kerr (Big Johnson)

Water is already significantly lower than it was Labor Day. I've been several times since then. The ramp at North Bend is useable, but very tricky. Be careful backing out after you get off the trailer.

With two weeks to go, there is no way to say right now what ramps will still be open. Rudds and Grassy are two of the deepest on the lake, so they should be fine. The forecast from the Corp is for it to drop about two more feet in the next few weeks. Probably most places you usually fish are growing sod right now.

Be extremely careful if you are not very familiar with the lake, it is getting to the point where it is dangerous. Give all points plenty of room!! Headed back tomorrow for the weekend, dont' see much changing but it getting even lower.

Yup, that's about what it looked like. I spent most of my time marking stump beds and rock piles on the GPS for next spring.

That is a nice looking stump field. Where is that located on Buggs? I am not familiar with Buggs only been a couple of times. If anyone would like some company to look at the lake while it is low to mark some spots email me at jrleewood@comcast.net.

Looks like a few years ago when it got down to 291. I've still got my tapes and gps cords.

Marked many more points today. Someone has been busy putting trees in the water. Found several more today that were not there Tuesday. They had nice fish on them. Keep up the good work. I'll be back next weekend to mark the new ones.

There are as many stump fields just like that one as you want to look at right now. Acres and acres.
