    '99 Evinrude Ficht 225 Timing

    Hey Rusty,
Do you know what the EMM Timing should be set at? Mine's at 25 degrees and wanted to make sure that it's correct.

    Thanks in advance!

You have to use the software to ask the EMM what it thinks the timing is and then check that with a timing light.

Got it. I did that and it stated 25 degrees. I'll follow up w/ the timing light in the morning.

Tell the EMM what you see with the timing light, it will only let you change it 3 degrees at a time so.......if your timing light shows 20 BTDC and the EMM thinks its 28 BTDC, you will have to move what the EMM thinks 3 degrees at a time.

    Make since?

Makes perfect sense. I'll try it tomorrow. I fired it up today and she ran smooth. I'll feel better once the timing checks out.

Thanks for staying up late and replying! You da man!

    John,
I fine-tuned it as you stated and that baby purred after the tweak. I took her out and ran it for about an hour and it started on a dime and ran great.

As always, I appreciate your help and here's a toast! Yee-haaa, MigAZ has power again!
