1991 GT 150

Looking to possibly buy a 91 GT 150...got a few questions. Are these looper or crossflow engines, are they a fairly reliable engine, and what would be good compression numbers for it. The guy says all 6 are 95-100 which is good that there isn't much variance, but it that considered low, high, or just right? Thanks for your responses.

Sounds good to me and they are crossflows. Very reliable motors but they like gas.

The numbers are close which is a good thing. All compression gauges are not created equal therefore the numbers will vary from gauge to gauge. You will love the motor and it's performance. You will not like it's appetite for gasoline.
I owned a XP 150 for 26 years and finally parted with it for a new E-Tec that I took delivery on yesterday. I sincerely hope the new motor serve me as well as my old crossflow for the next 26 years. At my age, this should be my last new motor. <smile>

I have a 89 175gt now, it runs good, Loud sounding to me, and is a GAS HOG. But as far as reliability, keep it maintained and it will run you good.

Re: 1991 GT 150 (THE WITCHDOCTOR)

The oldX-Flows were some great, strong motors. As said, they arenot the most refined (by today's standards) but are much less complicated and "easier" to fix if something does go wrong.

DR. what you running that GT175 on? How do you like it?
