    Re: Jack Yates Masterpiece (bigfishingstud)

It's a 1988 skeeter starfire 175 with a 1982 BlackMax 150. I've had it for years. It's been through a cap off repair on the transom, floor, and stringers $4,459.00

Trashed the engine last winter. scraped it except for the block and midsection. Bored the block .015 and we replaced everything. Didn't want any electronical problems so we started with the stator and replaced every electrical part on it. Total cost on engine, electrical parts, and lower unit $5,312.00.

Been a ton of work and spent way more money than i should ($12,000.00)have. Will never get it back, but it's been fun.

New seats, tires, hubs, and wheels. $1,289.00

lowrance Units: HDS5 w/LSS1, LMS-520c, LMs522c/igps..We all know what these units cost me.

We started out to spend a couple of thousand and you can see where we finished. Gelcoat repair was quoted at 2,250.00. I talked Jerry Anderson at Wrap My ride in Conroe to wrap it. $1,750.00

Would i do it again, HELL YES. I fish it every weekend and the motor has a little over 22 hours on it now. Went through the breakin correctly and ran a compression check yesterday (124-126).

Heck if i had to sell it probably wouldn't bring 5,000.00, so I'll just keep it and fish it. Besides we are going to get the trailer cleaned up and painted next week. Wonder what that will cost? just realized the deck extension is not in the boat pics. Got a stain and am putting new carpet on it.

    It never ends.

***I'm looking for another basket case to start on. Prefer something 20-21' with a blown(Needs to be repairable) 225-250.***

    Jack

Yep, put them on last week. Was supposed to take the boat off the trailer to and get it redone, but ran out of time. Have to wait another week until I get back from choke.

    Very finished boat Jack.
How long did it take for them to wrap the boat?

    Very Nice.

I had a Skeeter Starfire that we hung a Black Max 200 on. Way to much motor, but boy did it fly...
