Just started thinking about repowering my 01 Ranger 520dvx currently with a 01 225 ficht on it.Motor has about 200 hrs on it,would be lookin to upgrade to 2011 etec 225ho.My thought is this I bought boat 1.5 years ago,boat is in immaculate condition,I owe nothing on it.I want to upgrade for a warranty and before something would happen to current motor.
Thoughts?
I am interested on what a new etec would cost and what I could get on trade for the ficht?

Check the Evinrude site for deals. They just came out of a deal with 3 more years of warranty for free. Spring time when the boat shows start up would be the time to buy. Dealers are hungry to sell so it is a buyers market. BRP will have Promos going for sure. I wouldn't expect a whole lot of trade in dollars for an 11 year old motor but is doesn't hurt to ask. May be better off selling it here or Craigs list for cash.

+1, ya won't get enough on trade, sell it outright....JMHO
