    Re: Social Security Statement (Skip)

I think a man ought to be able to retire from age 40 to 75, then must return to work. The workforce would be better balanced, the under 40 are the know it all folks and the over 75 don't give a chit and just get in the way trying to find you a 3/4" cpvc female adapter at the Home Depot. Why ain't these old farts in a bass boat, on the golf course, or simply sittin on the DP Bench at the grocery store coffee bar.

    almost a B I N G O....almost

Back when I was on a crew, my boss would always stop at a coffee shop before we started our work. We were at a grocery store, Stantons in Alvin, TX, that a lot of local old timers would frequent daily. Store served food in a small section. They would have their coffee and then some would go sit on a wooden bench close to the entrance. Reckon so they could say hello to all the folks coming in the store and also to gaze a bit a the ladies. One ole boy leaned over to me one mornin and said "sonny, I'm headed to the DP Bench, one day you'll be sittin on the DP Bench like us, do you know what that means?" I say No sir, he said it was the dead pecker bench.
