    Greetings ChampioNman:

    your comment on another post:

    "Should have fattened up #4 jet just like we do on the loopers with #2, when you tear it down check the H20 deflector and see if is gone or bad."

    By this do you mean that the carb for #2 cylinder should run a bit rich? if so, why?
    I have a 1994 Evinrude 225hp looper. Does this comment apply for this motor?

    The reason they fatten#2 is for COOLING purpose.....

    That is correct, by installing a 2 size bigger jet in #2 on the 90 degree loopers you cool the piston with fuel.

    This helps keep the piston locating pins in the piston.

    Yep what the posse' said! you do this for cooling via fuel flow.
