    Ficht stalling- need help!

    Hey Guys- I have a 97 150 Ficht (E150ILEUC/G04283431) that I had an issue with last night. Put in on the Miss River. Started fine, made a 10 min run fished a spot for about 30 min. Made another 15 min run ran fine, fished for 1hr. Got in to run back and everything started fine, ran WOT for about 2 min and started to bog down and came to a stop, no alarms, no SLOW mode. Checked bulb- soft. Pumped it and gas was filling up, bulb got solid. Started got on plane and about 30 sec later it shut down again. After that it would not turn over. I could hear it trying to but would never go. After about the 3 or 4th try the check engine lt would come on but no buzzer. Waited about 15 min and it would start but once in gear it shut down, then not start. Waited another 10-15min and it turned over and idle- sort of rough like it was starved for fuel, but not too bad. Idle would pick up like it was getting more gas and then would sputter a little but kept ideling. I could put it in gear and go slow put once I gave it some gas to get going it would die. The whole time this was happening the bulb stayed hard, I could hear the fuel pump (I think) running when I turned the key, H20 press was fine w/ solid stream out back and battery had good voltage. Any ideas of what is happening or where I should look first? Got a tourney this Sat and would really like to get this fixed. Thanks for any help.

    Find out what code was set! From your description I would do a compression check.

    Do a compression test first. If that is OK and all cylinders are close in numbers, then hook up a clear fuel line to the pump inlet, and a pressure gauge to the fuel rail and run the engine.

    do a comp. check like these guys said, that sounds just like what happend when my 99 150 FICHT lost compression in a cyl.

    Thanks guys! I will do the compresion check after work. If I do find a cyl w/ low compression, what's next? is that big trouble? Can it be fixed? Gonna cost me big $$$? Just want to know my options in case I need to start begging buddy's to borrow a boat this weekend. Thanks again for all you help.

    If compression is low in one or more cylinder, better start beggin. If not then you need to retrieve the codes and see what is going on.

    Sorry if this is a dumb question but how can I check the codes & find what they mean? I don't have the software. Would I need to take it to a dealer to pull the codes?
