Got a trip booked to Big Sam in late Feb. I've never fished there before (my partner fished there a lot 30 years ago but hasn't been back since).
We're fishing with a guide the first day and will fish 2 or 3 more on our own after that.
Anyone have some good tips on locations to fish/eat?

Ur guide can help you with locations. Plenty of places to fish right now. Lots of fish in the bushes.
Plenty of places to stay on the south end, bass buster Inn, Rayburn country and others. The stump offers some good food.

I've seen his posts/fishing reports and I agree he seems to tell it like it is.
I for one, do not judge a guide solely on how many fish i catch. If the bite isn't on, I'm okay with them showing me spots and telling me why the fish should be there. Don't get me wrong, I like to catch fish but even Bill Dance can't do it every day.
