I pulled mine today and it looks like the original one. Do these go bad, there was a little bit of crud in there but one of the farm trucks was sounding and running like crap and that one under the door was full of particles. Just wondering what the consensus is.
It's just really a screen and theoretically it could be back flushed and be OK, but seems like they are under 10 dollars, just for peace of mind I would change it.

7 dollars at dealer. Put it on yesterday. Wish it was not so hot down here, I would take it out. At least the beachfrot fishing is good though, it requires no boat!!!
Well, I ran boat for first time after new fuel filter and with the good comes the bad. I pumped the bulb till it got hard as a rock and it started 2nd turn ( out of character for sure but no complaints there). Now, it does not want to idle, which is out of character also but I did not get to run it very long, maybe got a little crud in there but any suggestions?
Is the fuel flow arrow pointed in the right direction? Did it idle OK prior to replacing the filter? Hose pinched?
Arrow in right direction, it idled well before this, and I am not sure about pinched hose, I will check that.
