I'll be fishing the Potomac River above the WW bridge. I'll be out there for about a week with my boat and was wondering if you guys knew of a good place to stay around that area. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Eric Snow.

Its slim pickins round there.
Many people stay at the Super 8 in Indian Head, Md.
Bel Alton motel in LaPlata is another popular one.
Do you know where you'll be launching from?
My favorite spot to stay is in the campground at Smallwood state park.
They have a few primitive cabins there too.

Are you active duty or retired for the service ? If so you can get a plce at bolling AFB it right on the river & there's even a boat ramp there
I'll be fishing the All American there in May and we will be launching from National Harbors then but I want to get down there a few weeks prior to that as I know nothing about that area and want to see the water. So I'm really not sure where I'll be launching from yet.
DC fishing lic required above W.W. Bridge also there are alot of no wake zones,,, be careful above the W.W. bridge it can be tricky,,,,, get a good map.
Also the fishing in May is usually better south of the bridge![]()
At the moment there is no ramp at National Harbor. You'll be launching from somewhere else and driving to the weighin site. Suugest you try Fort Washington or Marshall Hall ramps. Still no close by lodging.

Be expected to be the redheaded step child. FLW continues to overlap the All-American with a tour event at the same place and time EXCEPT---All-American will be limited to DC waters in May with a 16 inch limit. Absolutely rediculous water to fish during the spawn while the Pros get the run on the river![]()

I would camp before I stayed at any of those dumps
Size limit for LM is 15Â last time I looked until June. I would rather fish the river but DC can hold its own if you know where to go.
