It's really weedy and there ain't nothin' in there but 14.875" largies that shake their heads once and give up. Fish the lake. Some of the best fishin' of the year is upon us starting now.
Problem is I have a tourney that is restricted to bay only...unfortunately!

I am so sorry to hear this.
One of the reasons that I quit my bass club

I'll never understand this about some clubs. "lets have a tournament at one of the best smallmouth fisheries in the world, oh, and by the way.....you're not allowed to fish for them" WTF.
I drive to Erie to fish for smallies (not the same largies I can catch in my back yard). If the lake is such that I can't do that, I DON'T go to the bay.....I go back to my trailer and drink beer.
Was just there over the weekend. The bay bite was slow but we did boat about 6 keepers on Saturday from the bay. Fish wacky worms in the weeks or flip the weed beds or along the steel walls.
