Hey ya'all

The crappie seem about 1/2 into full spwan here (finally with the up and down temps)

No water temps I'm still waiting for my son to put the head back on his truck engine to clear the path to get the boat out (still need to bleed the steering -see post in lounge )

The prevailing high winds over 30MPH on every day I have off have limited my fishing to "The Dock" at Keyport Marina - They are catching nice ones between 7am and 10 am-but they are kinda slow , 1 big one and about 15-20 7" in between

On Sunday I caught a very nice "1" about 15" - she had eggs but not quite yellow enough to be laying, the jig guys were doing good on Lime Green and Pink over under combinations, and the "Rosie" minnows are what I caught my keepers on

If the wind would lay down I can get to the honey hole (hard with a boat) and let you know for sure about the spawn, also I have spotted a bluff with about 13' of water I wanna try when I get the boat out.

But if you want a mess of crappie that would make any Yankee proud (basket full of dinks ) then the time is right !!!

Personally I'm holding out for the larger bloated females and the males with bashed snouts in the next couple of weeks (wind cooperating)

(disclaimer: All fishing reports from this member are based on past experiences when I could catch a good mess of fish in a few hours- not based on my present allottment attained with the excuse "I used to know how to fish" )
