Well i finally finished up most of the work on my new to me boat, which is a 1996 Stratos 288 Pro XL. The boat originally belonged to my uncle who passed away in September of last year. My grandmother gave me the boat and it was in horrible shape. The gelcoat was oxidized badly, the carpet and seats were beyond repair. I brought the boat home and washed, wet sanded, buffed, polished and waxed the boat. It looks alot better now, not perfect by no means but alot better. I then pulled all the old carpet out of the boat and discovered a crack in the fiberglass located in the cockpit floor. It was cracked all the way through the glass. The wood was not rotten but was a little wet. I had my fiberglass guy go ahead and cut the floor out, he used a synthetic material called Coosa Board to redo the floor and West systems epoxy. I then ordered some carpet and recovered everthing and contacted the Boat Seat Store for some new seats. I also installed a recessed trolling motor tray during this process. The boat looks great now I will be ordering some electronis shortly and will figure out why the heck the livewell pumps are not working any tips would be appreciated. Here are a few pics I snapped while underway.
